It's another one of those wonderful weeks here at the Weekly Webcomic Wrapup laboratories, where we have so many good strips to choose from that we have a hard time whittling the list down to seven. What do we do when we have a hard time with something? We give up, of course! Which is great news for you, because, hey, more comics.

Check out the nine high-quality gaming-related strips below, and vote for your favorite after the jump! There's a bit more than you're used to, but we trust that you'll have the strength to power through.

Obligatory (VG Cats)
Full of Twists and Turns (Penny Arcade)
The Rob Ford Effect (Of Noobs and Men)
The Sacrifice (Nerf Now)
You and the Captain Make It Happen (No Cash Value)
Skill Sets (Digital Unrest)
Dead Rising 2 (Another Videogame Webcomic)
Health Hazard (Brawl in the Family)
Least Objectionable War (Virtual Shackles)

Capcom is discounting select PSP UMD games via its online store, including Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law and Capcom Puzzle World. If you're a PSP Go owner, uh ... yeah.

Wondering what those announced, but mostly unseen DC Direct gaming figures look like? We spotted them this morning at the NY Comic Con, casually posing in a glass case. Most of the items aren't for sale until later this year -- we might find that more troubling if it weren't bank account depletion season (read: Q4).

In case our sterling review of Enslaved: Odyssey to the West wasn't visually stimulating enough for you, please take some time to enjoy the launch trailer. With its beautiful landscapes, interesting characters and cavalcade of menacing robots, we believe you'll be glad you did.

Last night's IndieCade 2010 awards ceremony recognized some of the best independently-developed games released over the past year, as well as Tim Schafer, who was not released over the past year. The full list of winners can be found after the jump.

You're probably familiar with some of them, provided your gaming tastes wander off the beaten path -- there's Playdead's haunting platformer Limbo, Ian Bogost's Atari 2600 gem A Slow Year, and Steph Thirion iPhone title Faraway, which won something called the "Sublime Experience Award." We're sure the other honors are just as prestigious, but that's the best name for an award we've ever heard.

OkamidenNewsReviewScreensVideoAchievementsGuidesForum Chibiterasu is lost and found at New York Comic Conby Andrew Yoon on Oct 8th 2010 9:40PM

13Posters of this adorable lost god puppy can be found all over New York Comic Con. According to the poster, his name is Chibiterasu, he weighs about twelve pounds, and he likes painting and peanut butter. If you didn't figure it out, it's a viral campaign for Okamiden, and he can be found at Capcom's booth.

After we got to play the upcoming DS game, we decided to give a call to the number listed on the flier. Unfortunately, all we got was a voicemail message, which you can listen to here:

The address is the address of the Jacob Javitz Center, which is also where Comic Con is being held, so... yeah. I'm thinking someone meant for them to be posted outside of the convention center to imply they should visit the Capcom booth and didn't quite understand the instructions? Reply Posted: Oct 8th 2010 10:24PM Hank Hill said3 hearts ReportThe voicemail should have been random high-pitched gibberish, in the true Okami spirit. Obviously some fat chick cosplaying otaku made that. I don't think Capcom needed this and I don't think it was really cute or funny.

...and that picture kinda scares me. Blair Witch Project-style. Reply Sorry, you must be logged in to leave a comment. Okamiden InfoDescription

Okamiden is a picturesque action adventure game for the Nintendo DS. Taking place a few months after the events of Okami, Okamiden will follow the adventures of Chibiterasu," a young sun god who is summoned to protect the land. Following in the footsteps of its parent Amaterasu, the sun-god-turned-wolf in Okami, Chibiterasu takes the form of an adorable wolf pup for the mission ahead. Chibiterasu will join forces with a rich cast of characters to fight off a new threat that has leeched the world of its vibrant color again. Beyond the battles, Chibiterasu and buddies will come to realize their inner potential and accept the kinship that comes with being the children of great heroes and gods. Using the DS stylus, you will wield a celestial brush controlled by Chibiterasu. This powerful tool can attack enemies, paint helpful objects and structures into existence and help Chibiterasu perform exceptional feats that will change the world before your eyes.
