I know I promised a review of Privates, but when it came to writing time, something rather more important caught my attention.

So unless you live under a particularly thick rock, you’ll have heard about the latest creation from the brilliant minds over at Irrational Games, Bioshock: Infinite. It’s a prequel to the Rapture saga set 40 years before the events of the first two games. Where Bioshock and Bioshock 2 were set in the art deco themed under sea world of Rapture, Infinite takes place in the airborne steam punk city of Columbia.

And although one of the game’s developers believes it could be considered a new intellectual property, the gameplay looks remarkably similar, right down to the big daddy-type figures and supernatural powers, except now you seem to drink them in stead of inject them.

In the game, you’ll play as Booker DeWitt, a detective sent to rescue a woman named Elizabeth from the highly xenophobic city. Of course the big news is that on Tuesday, Irrational Games released the first gameplay trailer for the game. The video’s below, open for your interpretation.
